Need site for dating Kenmore sewing machine...
Recently found it; now I've lost it. Does anyone else have those days? If someone can sent me the link, I would forever be in your debt...not really...but I will say Thank You!!
Please help!! |
Are you talking about ther vintage machine thread that has taken on a life of it's own? You recently posted there, so look in 'My Posts' at the top right of this page or type "Vintage Sit' in the search box.

Yes, I thought I did that. I put Kenmore in the Search bar. Will try again. Thanks!

I found the Kenmore dating link but the list only goes up thru 1965. My # is not listed. This was my mom's machine and I'm going to try to rescue it.
The model # is 159.262 SN10061 according to my sister who has the machine! |
My Kenmore, model # 158.13571, was purchased new in the late 70s. The dates are missing for my particular model.

Did you ever find the info about the 159.262? My brother just gave me one and it's the cutest little machine.... 3/4 sized and has a long bobbin. The manual says that it was made in Japan. Could it be one of the Japanese clone machines? I have the manual if anyone needs a copy of it.

I recently inherited a 1972 158,1410,,,,,

I realize this is a long shot since the thread is several years old, but do you still have a copy of the 159.262 manual you might be willing to part with? I picked one up today and the gentleman who sold it to me said he didn’t have any luck finding a manual for it. Thank you 😊
If I had to make a guess long bobbins were phased out after WWII? The only thing I know about Kenmore is the ones marketed by Sears that were made by New Home/Janome for many years. |
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. Just some general info regarding dates and who manufactured Kenmore machines can be found at http://www.searsarchives.com/history.../sewing_id.pdf http://www.doubleveil.net/zssmp/resources.htm near the end of the page (includes some not shown at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...n-t259833.html ) Some manuals can be found at https://www.manualslib.com/brand/ken...g-machine.html Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. Not affiliated with off-site link(s) ETA the searsarchives pdf is searchable (Ctrl+F) which is what I would suggest. For the most part it is in numerical order, but I have found some that are out of sequence. |
