Hi,
Decided to take the plunge on try paper piecing but am stumped right off the bat. On the diagonal line for #1 and #2 do I have both pieces of fabric together then press open and then just stitch #3 after those two pieces are stitched on? So confused!!! Any insight would be appreciated. I think I must really be PP challenged or maybe I just cannot reason. LOL I thought I had choosen an easy pattern - there are only three pieces!!! |
Here is one tute that is fairly straight forward  But let me see if I can break this down just a bit for you.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-25541-1.htm You put piece 1 face up on the backside of the block, trim down if you want. Place piece 2 face down on top of piece 1, sew those 2 together on the line from the front of the paper. Trim those down to 1/4 then flip piece 2 into its proper place. Then place piece 3 face down on top of piece 1 & 2 Sew on the line for that. Trim down to 1/4 , then flip piece 3 into place. Does that make sense or help any ? |
The light just came on! Thank you so much for the explanation and for the link. Off to try this now.

Glad to help.... as you can see I was SO confused when I started so Amma made the tute for me, so I can testify that it really does work  Amma really made it easy for me , so I love to pass it around and help others out with it

Hi,
I just sew # 1 & # 2 on one seam, and works great and saves you a step, this is the way my friend taught me and comes out perfect every time. Craftybear |
