I am having a terrible time with figuring out how to resize photos for a quilt. I have a pattern that includes a 1/2 inch seam all around the photo. The first one is 7 inches long and 9 inches wide which includes the seam allowances. Does anyone know an easy way to resize my pics in inches? I have gone to picnik and it is also in pixels. Yikes! I have other pics that need to be 5 1/2 x 3 1/2, 6 1/2 x 4 1/2, 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 etc. Any suggestions please!!!

Do you have PowerPoint? You can add an image, then resize it there. You can make it any size you want. It might distort a little, or you could crop it to the size you need.

The problem is that these are pics that were emailed to me from my sisters and brother. I have to be careful that the pics dont become distorted as well.

Are you using Windows--or a Mac. If it is a Mac, import into iPhoto and you can resize them in inches there. If you are on Windows, put them in the windows photo editor, and you can change the settings to inches.

If you have either Paint or PaintShop Pro on your computer, they let you resize without distortion. I use them all the time and they are great.
