Help!!! Pieced wholecloth pattern.....

I am looking for ideas for piecing a wholecloth type quilt for my daughter. She wants a wholecloth for her king sized bed.....she wants it pieced....we saw one somewhere but I can`t remember where. It was light colored...beiges and whites and a very simple pattern. I wanted to see it again for inspiration....I want to start buying fabric for it....does anyone remember seeing one on here?? I think I will try and get it done for next Christmas and surprise her....any help would be appreciated...thank you!!!

By definition, a wholecloth is not pieced.

It sounds like she just wants a quilt where the quilting design/texture creates as much of the pattern as the piecing does.

I know they are out there. My aunt did one year's ago by quilting on large muslin blocks, I believe 16 inch and putting them together. Unfortunately that was before good cameras! I'll take a look see on the web and get back to this thread.

Yes, that is techniquely not a whole cloth but only the quilting itself makes the design not the piecing.

Do you mean a series of regular shaped blocks with feature quilting in each? You could pull that together yourself from multiple sources perhaps. It wouldn't be a whole cloth quilt though, from my understanding of that term.

I made my son a white on white...it was blocks put tog to look like a wholecloth. Dont have a pic sorry.
why does it have to be pcd. I did mine that way because it was easier to do block by block.

The one we saw was pieced but the fabrics kind of blended together....it was really different.....and it is her choice so i want to do it as she wants....after it is pieced I will treat it as if it was only one piece of fabric....so wish i could find the one i saw....i don`t remember exactly what the squares were .....if i don`t find one i`ll try and improvise...

the quilting should be the star i think, the piecing would be only background , but with some pattern but not being the main feature.....sheshhhh does it make sense??? lol
