An unfinished quilt of mine was displayed at a local shop; and when I got it back there were 2 markings with some type of glue. I do not think it was intentional, just where the quilt touched some surface...
NOW... how does one get glue off a quilt? On any other surface, I'd use silicone spray or even mineral oil but those would leave an oily mark on fabric (and it's black fabric!!)

HELP, please!

Try Eucalyptus Oil. Put a little on a cloth and start at the edge of the sticky mark, wiping gently over the mark then wash the quilt.

you need to call them and find out what kind of glue they had out , before i would try removing it! with nay luck it is elmers, water based.

Murphy's Oil Soap may work. I haven't tried it on glue but it sure works on gum and tuff stains.

first thing you need to find out exactly what it is...it could be a fusable webbing or elmers glue...you need to know; if it is just white glue it should just wash out. if it is something more (sinister) you will have to take bigger measures. but you can not begin until you know what it is you are trying to remove.

I agree with ckcowl, find out what it is first before trying to remove it. If you don't, you could make it much worse than it is now :(

Perhaps take it back to the quilt shop and ask them to do it since it was done there.Or at least maybe they can tell you what it is and give some advise on how to remove it!

That has to be so frustrating.

Try an icecube...usually anything sticky will come right off after being in contact with ice for a min or two. And using the icecube will not leave an oily residue on your quilt top.
