Help Stains Out!
Help!
I have stains in old Tea towel W/ Red work so can't use Bleach. Lite yellow I know some of you Know how to get them out! I want to make a Quilt with them. :) |
Can you use a bleach PEN???

I've never done that but it won't work because all the stains are in the redwork :(

how about Oxy Clean?

I don't have any on hand and will try if everything here at home won't work! lol I'm going to try a Paste of Borax powder and see what happens!

I think there are some products to clean up old linens. Grandma's spot remover and the Carbona line come to mind. I think you can get those at JoAnns and maybe other fabric stores. And How about Oxyclean. I soak my husbands work shirts in oxyclean for up to a week without damaging the embroidered logo. Here is a link I found for vintage linen stains.

I whitened a tea stained block today with washing soda in warm water :)

you can absolutely use bleach with redwork.... my grandmother's linens were covered with embroidery and were bleached with every wash.... just don't pour it on the fabric.... bleach should be in and mixed with the agitator before adding fabric... get some embroider thread and test on a scrap... the bleach is to whiten not to remove all color...

efferdent and hot water in a ziploc or air tight container for two days!
