Ok, so I started to get ready to sew my first peices together last night and was having problems with the tension wheel, my needle broke in the process. I think I figured out my problem with the tension, but now I need to go get some new needles. Is there a cetain type I need to get?? Thanks again, you guys have been sooooo much help to me!

Sam ~ Are you asking for your machine? Some machines only like certain brands. OR are you asking which size of needle?

For my Janome I mostly use Schmetz needles. For piecing - Sharp 80/12 or 75/11. For quilting Schmetz TopStitch 80. I also have some Organ needles that fit my machine

Well, I didnt know what size or if I needed ones that were specific to my machine. It is an older singer model. So would any singer needles work??

Singer needles would work just fine for your machine.

I have an older Singer, plus a new Janome and a couple of Featherweights, and the Schmetz needles fit in all of them. I would think that they would also work in yours as well as any of the Singer needles. I use 80/12 sized needles as well. You can get them pretty much anywhere that sells sewing supplies.
