I found a quilt shop while I was doing the shop hop and of course Loretta you came straight to mind at www.piecefulgatherinquiltshop.com they have a BOM civil war diary quilt and while you do the blocks you learn from the women of the civil war journals it sonded like a wonderful way to learn all that great history while working each month on a block...check it out...

Ok that didnt take me there either. go to the site put the pointer over shop on line and it will bring up a menu, go to quilt clubs and blocks of the month.

I'm quite sure the book is also avialable in joanns and other sites, so could do it on your own :D book is available here

if that fails do the shop hop and find pieceful gathering quilt shop thats all I was doing was shop hopping for July and came across it...try that and follow the bunny to the BOM page and thats where I came across it...I bookmarked it so if all else fails let me know and I will just send the url to you....

I found it, that is one awesome quilt, are you going to tackle it one day???
Just counted all those blocks 122 I make it. Donīt think I would live long enough to finish that one Melissa LOL

I like the other one there with the centre applique. I like a bit of history though its very interesting. I also checked out the URR you all talked about, cool

The way I figured it would take almost 2 years, with doing 5 or 6 blocks a month. Think I would rather get the book and tackle it on my own. I dont have the patience to wait that long!!! There is another book called Civil War Love Letters, Would like to get that one too!!
