I so wanted to see the rotary cutting video that was mentioned in another thread that I wrote the company.
Sadly for us Canucks and everyone else that doesn't live in the USA, here is the response:
Hello and thank you for your email. Please accept our sincere apology for the delay in getting back to you with this response.

From your postal code, it appears you reside in Canada. Currently, the Scripps Networks web sites only offer video content to site visitors in the U.S. and its territories due to content licensing restrictions. Unfortunately, we have no definitive answer as to whether this situation will be changed in the near future, but we do hope you will continue to visit and enjoy our sites as they are exciting destinations for all things related to home, food and lifestyle.

Best regards,
Scripps Networks Customer Service

At least now we know there's nothing wrong with the site or our computers and there's no point trying to look! (Sigh.... :-( )

I wonder... if someone here were to do it in a tutorial for those that cannot view it, would that be copyright issues?

Well, here's what it seems to me:

These are pretty basic kinds of projects.
Nothing there seems to be "new under the sun" as it were.

If someone who can get the site goes there and watches the videos,
and then comes back and explains in their own words how it was done, then I don't see a problem.
Since these are not particularly innovative or newly invented techniques,
I would think the only copyright problem would come if the explainer used the *Same Script Or Worded Directions* as the person who made the video.

It's like the Half Square Triangles, which are a technique, not a pattern.
If I go to a website or a book and learn it, then go tell someone else word-for-word how it was done rather than tell it in my own words, then I would be stealing the originator's specific instructions, which are copyrighted.
