Hobbs Polydown Plus

Does anyone know the difference between what is commonly available as Polydown and hard to find Polydown Plus. I have a new book that used this plus polydown exclusively. Thanks you for the info.

The Hobbs site doesn't list any Polydown Plus, so you can't tell what the difference is. What is the book and why does it recommend this particular brand? Maybe that will tell you the difference.

If you put "Polydown Plus" in quotation marks when you use your search engine, it will give you a lot of sources of the Polydown Plus, especially on the bolt. :)

The book is Shadow Trapunto by Geta Grama. Thanks I will do a search for it using quotation marks.

Ah, trapunto! I would guess from that that the Polydown Plus is denser, loftier or that it holds its loft better.

Hari Walner had a specific batting that she used for trapunto - can't remember the brand, at the moment. I remember that it was difficult to find compared to other battings and it's really stiff and springy.

You stitch this stuff to the back of the trapunto areas with water-soluble thread, just inside the design that you will stitch, then you cut away the excess and layer the quilt as usual. You quilt the outline on the design marked on your block, just past the edge of the trapunto layer of batting.

Is that how your book describes it, too?
