I recently posted that i received a new sewing machine for my birthday. Several of you asked me what i named it. I have never named a sewing machine before. GGinMcKinney told me she named hers Jan after the saleswoman who sold it to her. What did you name your machine and why?

Thanks for all the warm wishes for my birthday. I think the people here are so great.

I do not as well. People sometimes name their pianos and cars as well. If I ever name any appliance in my home it will be my vacuum. May I present "underused". :)

I guess we're all just different --and that's not a bad thing.

I haven't named my machines. DH usually gives the cars names and the animals nicknames. Don't tell him, but it I think it shows he really is just a softy although he balks at outright romance. lol! I usually have a hard time even naming the animals, let alone machines.

I call my Ellisimo DW which stands for Dream Weaver because that is what she helps me do! I am one of those nuts who has a name for everything.

Depends on what kind of a day I am having...

I call mine what they are - the Janome, the Kenmore but yesterday I bought a brand new Elna and I am thinking of calling her Ellie. I think she will be my new best friend!

I just got a new to me embroidery machine from Tomilu. She was so kind to post a photo of it after I made arrangements to buy it. The first thing I seen was a big E on the front of it and my mothers name came to mind. I named her Elsie after my deceased mother so now whenever I use her I feel as if my mom and I are working on the project together. It makes me feel like mom is close and that makes me happy.

Crabby Patty, I believe I have those same glasses that are on your dog. They came in the mail with my yearly giving report from a church that I visit when I visit my mom in Florida. They are hilarious!!

Haven't named mine, afraid they may talk back. "Use me, Use me"

I call my Singer treadle "Nefertiti" because it has the sphynx decals. My LA I call Sportster because it cost just about the same as the motorcycle. My Bernina I just call the Bernina.
