The ones from the go die aren't the same on both sides so they can't be used for an 8 point start as far as I can see.

ugh... I'M ready to toss these in the garbage!!! so frustrating... I cant get it.. I feel so stupid.. I don't know why I can't figure it out..

yes fold and crease the center with your fingers, and match and pin. good luck
