I am by Charleston SC and can't find a quilt show in my area. Is there a search I can do to find out if there is one coming soon?

Here's one coming up in October:

I think most of the shows in the south are held Oct-March because of the weather.

Here are the guilds in SC - read through and see which ones have shows.
How far are you willing to travel?

The Quilt Symposium in Raleigh, NC is coming up if you are willing to travel a little bit.

I put quilt show South Carolina in my search engine and got a whole page full of links and info.

Do you have a quilt shop nearby? They usually have posters and fliers up about upcomming events. If not, they can direct you to some local guilds. I am guessing that they have their own quilt shows where guild members enter the quilts. At least that's what we do around here.
