Depends on my time...if time is not an issue then I prefer the traditional method: 1 rectangle and two squares (call me quirky but I love to piece) however if time is an issue then I use Eleanor Burns" method and her rulers to make 4 at a time.

Ricky Tims has an interesting method you might want to look at too. I don't have the link but I'm sure you can find it easily.

I use Easypeesy's way of doing it. Works well for me.

I just learned a new method when I was making the Connecting Threads mystery quilt and I really like it. New to me, anyway. I also make mine a smidge bigger and trim them down.

I use the Quilt in a Day flying geese rulers.....perfect every time!

katybob thanks for info; want to try asap. Is there any way to show the rest of this page?

I use the method katybob showed. Easy, I don't need a special ruler and it works every time. someone did a really nice tutorial on making them this way here on the board, I don't know the URL.

Here it is. I cut the C squares 4" instead of 3-7/8" and trimmed them a little.

Me too except I pass the HST leftovers to people who make projects with small HSTs.
