How have you quilted your Twister Pinwheel quilt?
I love this pattern, but am at a loss as to how to quilt it to get the full impact of it.
Free motion meandering? Grid? Stitch in the Ditch?......What have you all done with it? Thanks. |
I have done stitch in the ditch on all the squares.

I have outlined quilted every other twister. It makes a neat pattern on the opposite side. Here is an example of the quilting i did on a much smaller scale then a quilt. (cover of needle book)

I have one to quilt soon, I think I am going to try making a lazy S wave from long tip to opposite long tip, then SITD thru the middle of the next one to the long tip again. Mine is alternating lights & brights, so this would make wavy rows (squares) on the back.
I think.... |

Stitch around the twists that you want to stand out.

I tied mine with metallic embroidery thread. I used a colonial knot (similar to a french knot) on the front, then tied the ends in the back. I placed the knots in the center of the pinwheels. The metallic embroidery thread makes it look like I beaded it.

Thanks for posting this question, I have been wondering the same. Just made by first twister, a Christmas wreath and had no idea what others might do.
