How to make Bias Binding

I am making a baby quilt that will have rounded edges. I want to use one of the fabrics that is in the quilt top so I bought 1 yard. My finished quilt will be 50" X 50" . I have been browsing the web and watched lots of videos on how to cut the bias binding but I remain befuddled! Do any of you have a go to video or have some bits of wisdom to help me get this done?? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I'll be watching this thread because I need the same thing.

I cut 2 1/2" strip on a 45 degree angle. Stitch them together to get the length you need for your quilt. I usually add 10" so that I don't run out. Fold the strip in half (press your diagonal seams open) and press. I machine stitch to the front, fold over and hand stitch to the back. This is my favorite binding as it is so forgiving.

There is a method for making continuous bias binding. I don't know where to find it on the computer but here is generally an explanation if you can find it. Search for Continuous Bias

You take the square. Cut it diagonally and then you sew two edges together and then into a loop but overlap the seam the width of your binding. Then mark the cutting lines. It comes out all sewed together.

Search for it. I am sure it is there.
If not this way, then I cut diagonally and then continue to cut the strips along the diagonal edge and sew them together.

Here is one tutorial for continuous bias binding. I haven't used this one, but it looks easy to follow.

Here is the one from Quiltville:

I rounded the corners and did scalloped top and bottom of a quilt recently. I cheated and did straight of grain on the straight sides and bias on the ends. My quilt wasn't very wide so I just used a square of fabric and drew a line from one corner to the other on the 45º. I then used my ruler and drew a line over at 2 1/2 inches from the last line. I did the same on the other side and cut along the lines with scissors. I think I kept going until I had 3, 2 1/2 bias strips for each end. I sewed the straight binding on one side and joined on a 45º the bias strip a couple of inches before starting the corner and scallops. It worked out very nicely.

This is the method I use-- http://quilting.about.com/od/bindingaquilt/ss/binding_strips_4.htm No strips to sew together.

This is the one I always use. It's by Heather Mulder Peterson of Anka's Treasures. The only change I make is when she says to cut off a thin piece of the fold. I just cut a strip that is half the width I want. Since it's folded, it makes a whole strip. I have a hard time cutting a skinny strip on an edge.

She has a chart that explains the process. You just have to click on the link that says Read More or something like that.

Thanks for asking this question. I also needed this information as I will be attempting to do my first binding very soon.
