I am wondering if you see some fabric you love but don't have a specific project in mind, how much fabric is a good amount to buy? 1 yd, 2 yds...

3 yards if I really like it.
|
If I really love it I'll get at least 4 yards and sometimes 6 yards.
|
If I really like it I buy two yards. If I have something in mind i buy what they have left. Especially if its for something like four patch posies of something to that order. You can always use whats left for the back and borders too.

I had started a thread about this about a month ago, but always a good question to ask. It seemed as though most people (who didn't mind having a stash) got about 2 yards standard, then 3+ yards if the price was right or they just fell in love! Happy Stash building!

Thanks so far for the responses. |
If its at the quilt shop in town to I buy a yard or two because I can always go back and get more.
If its outside of town and I find that one fabric in the place that I can't leave without then I'll try to get at least three if I can spare it. If I find more than one fabric that I can't leave without then I'll try to get as much of each as I can. A yard is the bare minimum. I don't buy fractions of a yard unless I'm testing out something or have a smaller project. |
1-2yds if I like it, 3+ yards if I LOVE it :D:D:D

Two yards if I like it and all I can if I really love it.

as much as I can afford at the time :)
