Just finished the top of memory quilt and need some input on how to quilt it. It has different types of materials from t-shirt to sweat shirt and lite weight denim. Also has pictures which cannot be quilted. Will be assemblying it this week for getting it ready. Can it be machine quilted ? It was suggested to quilt it in the ditch but I think it needs more than that.

First of all, love your quilt!
Second, when I do memory quilts, I don't like to quilt over the "pictures". So I do a lot of ditch quilting on mine. If you want to add something a bit fancier, you could do something in the sashing like a curlieQ or tiny free motion hearts. It's hard to tell how large your blocks are, and that will factor in too depending on how far apart you need to quilt for your batting.

thanks, I do plan to do a curly in the sashing and I know you donot quilt the pictures and it was suggested to me at quilt shop to quilt in the ditch but there are some blocks that are so plain that I feel I need to do something in them. the blocks measure 12" finished and some the smaller 6"blocks in the 12" squares need some sort of quilting design but I guess I will work that out. Need to pick the right needle to do the squares since there are different materials. I did put stablizer on the back of the blocks so there should not be any stretching. It has been quite a challenge and looking forward to getting it completed and presented to my niece in memory of her mother.
