I fell in love with this line by Michael Miller
French Holiday- oh my!! So pretty but I don't have a clue how to cut this w/o ruining it. http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail....e-380eaab2dfb0 Any ideas?? I want the whole line of course LOL |
Wow, I love it. I wouldn't cut it all. Use it as a quilt top as it is, it doesn't need any embellishment.
Checkout: www.mountainpeekcreations.com and you can see ideas on how to use yardage that is too pretty to cut up. Would be a shame to cut that up in blocks. Carol J. |
use it as a large panel and border it out sorry thats all i could think off im sure someone else will have a better idea
|
You could use it like a panel and add borders around it. It is beautiful! I love Michael Miller fabrics!
|
That was my thought- it's just too pretty to cut!
Thanks, friends :) |
Thanks, Carol!! :D
|
Ok, here's my idea, put it in a box and send it to my house!! I will do something with it!!
|
Haha, Marie, you crack me up!
I just ordered the whole line- just couldn't resist! |
I'd do a medallian (spelling?) quilt surrounding it with borders
1st a very thin black, then squares cut from this fabric mixed with solids that are in it; another very thin black, more squares and solids.... No border - I really dislike borders |
Gollytwo, that sounds really pretty but you lost me on the medallion part :D
What do you mean??? I need ideas- this fabric came and it's really nice but all mixed together I don't think it would work. I like the idea of the solids and black so clue me in on the medallion. My brain is slow today LOL DUH- I just looked at one - do you mean a large piece for the center, right?? I have a better excuse- I'm watching too many baseball games   |
Susan,
dont we ALL want the whole line, of everything? since we are sisters, with the same middle name, heres my take, i love the take 5 patterns, all of them are sew fast and easy, take 5, take 5 on point, take 5 card tricks, google it! good luck katz |
9 Patch Pizzaz would be great to showcase this fabric

I'd use the big print as a backing and the coordinated prints in the quilt top

I have a better excuse- I'm watching too many baseball games Yes large section in the center and build around it I know it's mean to say to a Yankee fanatic (and in the interest of good playoff games, I expect you to forgive me) - but go Devil Rays for 2 more games. I need them to knock the Red Sox out of contention. The Sox are too weak for the playoffs. |

I couldn't cut that lovely fabric. I would be tempted to frame some of it. It's so pretty.
|
I agree use as a center panel, maybe a pieced border around it.
