I love the look of these quilts, but I am wondering how you would quilt it once it was pieced. I am about to purchase a long arm I think, and I want to make quilts to have ready to quilt once I get it. But I an not sure it needs long arm quilting or stitch in the ditch type quilting. What do you think?

When mine's ready for quilting I thought that I would quilt in circles. Thanks for posting the link to those various quilting patterns, Nan!

I would probably do a large meandering. It is my favorite.

I don't like quilting to show on my OBW's, so I do SITD. I work too hard to make all those darn kaleidoscope blocks to distract from them with quilting! LOL

Everyone has a different opinion and a valid reason for their opinion - in the end we have to make our own choices whatever they are.

I think you could definitely do some fun quilting without taking away from the block design. As long as you use a blending thread and you keep the quilting simple I think it would only enhance your quilt! ;) Good luck!

I love seeing the quilting on the backing - on my OBW's I use muslin and a width of the original fabric (pieced) for the back and do something fun, funky, geometical or something intriguing that's going to make me want to flip that quilt to the back so I can see the quilting. I really really enjoy looking at all the different blocks - then the quilting on those, then the back... one of my favorite quilt patterns.
