Beautiful quilt! I would use white thread, and some sort of curvy design.

I have done this pattern twice, and love it even more every time ! The first one I did all over stipple with white thread. The second I got a little more creative with.

Your quilt is beautiful! The quilting part is always a challenge for me -- in my dreams I would quilt it like slightlyoffquilter; but I'm not that good!

I just wanted to add that I also love your quilt top! It is beautiful!

Did you ask Reggie's opinion?? :) I have always loved straight stitching with white thread so that the quilting does NOT distract form the beautiful fabrics you chose. I would also SITD in the curves.

Your quilt top is BEATIFUL! Love the colors and the detailed piecing you did to achieve the secondary patterns.
You should be able to have a good conversation with your longarmer who should be able to recommend different options for the quilt as far as patterns and thread choices. Nan |
thanks for the compliments and ideas. I first saw it on Love of Quilting, It's Liz Porter's "Emily's wedding quilt" although I downloaded the free version on their website called "aunt gracie's garden" instead of buying Liz's version. It consists of the 54-40-or-fight block and the shoo fly block. I did not use the tri-recs rulers. I tried those once upon a time and the block came out wonky. I used Deb Tucker's ruler for the triangle in the square blocks and Eleanor Burns' method for the HSTs. I prefer making oversized blocks and cutting to size.

Beautiful job. .....

I love the pattern and colors, where might I find the pattern? With instructions I am still new to quilting I have not done curves yet but would love to try.

Your quilt is beautiful.
