What do you think of this? What questions should I ask? I sent a starting list of about 6 questions, the most obvious- age, service history, prior us, etc.

What shall I be on the look out for?

I don't know but I hope you get it. Ask if this includes the frame...and if there is still a transferable warranty on it...

does in include stitch regulator, what upgrade is it? On a 10 ft table what is the largest quilt you can load? will it take a queen size? are any needles included?

Hope this helps.

ahhh, warranty- that's very good!

the picture shows the track and long poles for the fabric, batting and backing. It says just needs a 10' table. (I have an 8" banquet table right now)

I just bought a mattress and box spring today for our bed. And paid the taxes last week on the house. grrr, need to sell my antique living room furniture or a car (anyone want a 1960 Nash metropolitan?) to get it.

I've been watching for 3 years for a long arm and this is the cheapest I've ever seen one. Just need to be sure it's what will fit my needs.

need more input please!

I think the HQ 16 is one of the machines that counts every stitch so you may want to know how many this machine has so you know how much it has been used. Does this price include the leaders as they can be expensive to replace. Also HQ16 has a video that comes with the purchase so is that included or is that something you would have to call and order? Lots of good info on it. Also, something to keep in mind when and if you do buy this the tracks on frame are held down with 3m double side sticky tape so have that on hand before you pick it up or you wont be able to play when you get home. Hope this helps a little. Let us know if you purchase this.

I don't know any sewing machine or long arm manufacturer that transfers a warranty to a second owner.

This is extremely cheap for a 2008 handi quilter, even without the table. You want to know how much it has been used, whether for her pleasure or quilting for others, if she does't have a frame, what kind of table did she use, what software updates she has purchases, the video some one mentioned, and what extras does it includes, I.e bobbins, spool holder, whether this is a regulated or unregulated machine whether it has been serviced (thinking of routine cleaning). For this price, I really wonder about the stitch regulator. Does it include the camps for the table. If not, go on line and price them. Good luck. This is an incredible price, almost too good to be true. I would want to know why she is selling it.

I assume that this is neR you. Ask if you can come try it out.

quilter41 09-17-2011 05:17 PM

They are much easier to use on a frame. Ask me how I know?

Good luck with get the right answers. I hope you get it if it is what you want.
