I've been looking for a back up machine, and I've found a Huskystar 224 on craigslist for $50. It's made by Husqvarna.
"....Everything included: Foot pedal, spare parts, 6 additional bobbins, users manual, and power cord. Box in excellent shape included" Does anyone have any feedback concerning this machine? It sounds like a great machine for $50 This is one of the pics in the ad |
For $50.00? It would make me wonder. What does it do? I have a H/V and love mine, but I wouldn't even sell my '78 Kenmore for $50.00. That's probably not what you wanted to hear, so I'm sorry. :-( Um, you wrote Box in excellent shape. Did you mean the machine was in excellent shape, or the box was?

LOL at the box remark question....

I thought the same thing when I saw the ad.. BOX is in excellent shape?!?!!
I may have to go take it for a test drive =) |
$50. price for a Husqvarna machine ? I worked in a Viking store for two years and we all avoided the Huskystars. Of course the box is in excellent condition! It's better made than the machine. That's why they are only asking $50.00 for it. Huskystars were made in China to compete with the inexpensive
singers, only the Singers were made better. |
I would keep looking. You could go check it out. Be sure to take some thread and material and do some trial sewing with the machine. For that price I would want to buy the machine new from a store where I would have some warranty time.

OUCH!
That doesn't sound good at all. |
