Husqvarna Viking machine
 

I have been using my walking foot this afternoon and when I looked at the back on some of the rows done i have a little bridge stitch every 10 stitches. Anyone had thE sme problem ? How did you stop it.

I have a Husqvarna Viking and I think it is very sensitive to lint buildup and I clean it out after each time I change the bobbin. Also, using 30 wt thread in the top and bottom helps keep my stitches smooth.

could be time to clean the machine- or time for a needle change- quite often noticing that the stitch quality is not what it should be is a (reminder) it is time to change the needle- the recommendation is after 8 hours of sewing time or with each new project- different fabrics can cause the needle to dull sooner- or last longer- it's all a (fine line) but generally when you notice things are not as they should be --- it's time.

I have a viking Saphire - I do not like the quilting foot on this machine. I fine I do a better job with a regular foot - I can see the 1/4 inch marking. I read on the Husqvarna web site to set the tension at 3. What tenson do you use - anyone?

Mine is the Saphire 835, usually I keep it in the colored 5 range, even with free motion.

You need to use the foot that comes with the walking foot so the material moves. I think lint or the needle is the problem.

Thank you it is a new needle,(broke one ) tension was 4 and the walking foot came with the machine. I have only been using it for a week so haven't cleaned it out. I thought I was owing so well until I saw the back. I have another strip to do so will try the quarter inch foot after cleaning . Will let you know by the time you all get up.

Well it is sewing much better and quieter . Using the quarter inch foot as I am only doing straight lines on a narrow piece of fabric . Off I go. Then hospital later busy day half of which not sewing.
