All of this organizing and straightening has inspired me to clean my sewing room .DH got me some new shelves and I am going thru my stash. Some of my scraps are older than youngest daughter. Have a lot of organizing to do.

I know when I go through and neaten up - a repeating process in my case - I look at recycling some of my material for charity quilts. It lessens the burden of keeping on to so much fabric and serves an extremely useful purpose.

Good luck with the reorganization....mine will get a good organizing, as soon as we finish the remodel of the house.

You could pack some of it in clear totes, so you can still use it and get ahead of the packing for later.
