I am so mad and frustrated with myself because I broke my sewing machine. My sewing machine cabinet has a platform that the sewing machine sits on and can be lowered into the cabinet and then the leaves can be closed on top. I wasn't paying any attention while lowering the sewing machine and the plug that plugs into the machine got pinched and broken. There is also interal damage in the sewing machine where the plug, plugs into the machine.

I have a husqvarna Viking Emerald 203. I don't know where to go or how to fix it. I bought it at JoAnn Fabric, but I don't think they have any kind of repair people to work on machines

Please give me suggestions as to what to do now???!!

look in the phonebook for a sewing machine repair man, call and ask if they service your model

Take a deep breath!
Find your book or look online. Get the part number.
Look in the phone book, online for sewing machine repair or call the store and get his name.
They can either repair or replace the cord. Bring the booboo cord with you to make sure you get the right thing.
Sewing machine repair shops have just about everything. I just bought a "new" cord and footpedal for my antique Singer. It cost $12.

You can purchase a replacement plug at a sewing machine repair shop.

The Joannes you purchased it from should have a licensed repair person they can send your machine out to. Or find a repair person with a good reputation locally. Good luck.

Did you buy it from the Viking people at Joanns? I know that the one in my Joann's is separate from Joann's. You should have gotten a business card when you purchased it. You can call them and ask them where to take for repairs.

Normally Viking is a separate entity in the joann's store. I am sure the have repair services, probably not on site, but they should be able to take care of it for you.

If it needs more than new plugs , most of the Viking dealers in the Jo Anns stores sends machines back to the factory for any major repair ( anything other than a routine cleaning) ... and it will be awhile before you get it back. Do ask if they are sending it back how long before you can get it back .. if its longer than you can tolerate see if there is a Viking dealer in your area that can handle a bigger repair with out shipping back to the factory.

I don't know much about Vikings but a lot of machines have a separate power cord that plugs into the machine and is easily removable. After losing a cord and paying $15 for one, I looked at a hardware store and found the same two prong inlet cord for $2.50. Just an idea.

Your Viking dealer in the JoAnn's store will be able to send the machine to a Authorized Repair service...most likely it will be a week or 2 turnaround.
