I can't believe what I did

I quilted a Christmas quilt I made for one of my granddaughters. I have had so much trouble with this quilt with thread breaking and bobbin backlash. This is the first time that has happened with the bobbin. So finished it up today and took it off the machine. I QUILTED IT WITH THE BACKING ON WRONG SIDE OUT!!!!! Well guess what? I'm NOT gonna frog that whole quilt. I'm gonna do a decreritive stitch on the seam then do a few more so it will look like I planned it that way. She don't sew and it's only a lap quilt so I doubt she will know the differance.

The back fabric looks ok with it that way, just the seam is wrong. I told my husband it was almost like I wasn't suppose to finish that quilt. I have one more to quilt for another granddaughter. Hope this one goes better.

I have had a few of those moments myself. Great save with the decorative stitches to hide the seam.

Great idea to use decorative stitches. I hope the second one goes better.

LOL, sounds like a great plan to save the quilt.

Isn't that what sewing machines are for, decorative designs to hide mistakes It will be great!!!

Remember a crisis is just a design opportunity!
Besides, you paid for both sides of that fabric, you should USE both/either side!!:)
It sounds like you've come up with a wonderful solution to your "design opportunity.

Sounds like something I'd do. I congratulate you on your creativity. I'm sure you're the only one who will know (besides hubby).

When I sit down to piece or quilt, I say to myself, "What am I going to m**s up today?" I'm not a pessimist by nature, but I am when I'm quilting. I keep my froggers handy.

There are never any mistakes....just creative adjustments!
