I cut the wrong size. Boo Hoo!
 

I used a June Taylor fussy cut ruler that was 6 1/2 Square for Pot holder and I cut enough for 30 pot holders and they were supposed to be 8 1/2 inches. I cut fronts and backs and cotton batting and insule bright. I spent all day and when I was done I looked at the video again and read below and I had this gut feeling and sure enough. I was just looking at the ruler she was using and did not know there was also a 8 1/2 inside cut also. What should I do with all these 6 and 1/2 inch squares. There is no rime or reason on the fabrics. I cut from cute valentine and St pacrick's to motorcycles. Oh darn. I should have read more below the video. Live and learn.

Make them smaller or add a border to them.

I would still make all the potholders, 6 1/2 is a nice size.

I would just find a contrasting fabric and make borders on all of them. (After saying a few choice words to vent my frustration.)

I have some that are rectangle maybe try cuttin one in half and add it to the bottom of one of the square and see if this is a better size to work with than just the square.

I like Aubrey's idea. or just make them like they are like sunnie's reply. I'll make a couple both ways and see how they are. Thank's for all the replys. I'll sleep on it.

Why don't you try making the 9-patch wonder potholders as made by kathdavis. they might be a bit larger when sewn into the 9-patch, but pot holders can be bigger. 6 1/2 when sewn will only be 6 inches and that is not that big for a potholder

You could also experiment with different shapes of potholders. Cut one square in half and add it to the sides of another square. That should be an interesting shape. You've already cut the Insul-Bright and the cotton batting, so keep cutting! Tack them onto the other squares to make an 8½" square, or a 10" square, or whatever size you want to make. You don't have to do much tacking or basting because the quilting will hold it all in place. Then piece the top and bottom for it. You have lots of cut squares for that! You should be able to come up with some interesting patterns and potholders that way!

Or think outside the box. Instead of making potholders, make an insulated mat that you can set hot pots and pans on, wether on the table, or next to the stove. I have one for each. You can make almost any shape you like with all those insulating squares, and any pattern you like with all fabric squares. Get really creative! Have fun re-arranging the fabric. Pull in a bit of new fabric if you like, for a central focus. Go nuts with it! Yeah! Yeah! That's what I'd do. (Or as my DH would say: "You're having too much fun again!")

Or maybe you need a casserole cover. What a perfect opportunity to design and create! Pick out your favorite casserole and make it to fit. Oh, I'd have a good time with that one. People would be laughing at the cover before they ever had a chance to laugh at my casserole! (You have any problem with Gluten-free lasagna noodles baked in a mix of Almond milk, coconut milk "To-Die-For" chocolate ice cream, crushed almonds, vanilla extract, cinnamon, tapioca starch, and topped with gluten-free chocolate sprinkles? It comes out almost like a great bread pudding.) Yes, that would be a good time.

Relax. Get creative. Have fun. Life is too short to let tiny mistakes ruin perfectly good days. Or as my Mother used to say: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

If you bind them instead of turning them, they won't lose anything in size. I would do some this way and add borders on some, but then you have to recut your Insulbright.
