A little history I went to my first big quilt show in Long Beach awhile back and bought the nifty little kit to make those cute little hexagons. Three trips to to the hospital for stays with DH from 5 days to 3 weeks and a couple of vacations later I have over 80 double rowed flower completed. Yippee I thought! I hummed and hahhed over what to do now. Bought three different fabrics to possibly applique the flowers to the material but realized this isn't quite the right approach. Decided I am sick of making hexagons and do not want to put a walk way between the flower. Now I decided, I would zig zag the flowers together did about 1/4th of the flowers and do not know if I like that either. I have considered doing a PIF or selling these blasted flowers but with so much time invested I am just betwixted and between with them. Any suggested to get me moving again on this project - it has sat for over 8 months now.

Plus there is a whole bunch more flowers in a plastic bin

Since every flower-garden has a few weeds, why don't you think of this as Grandmother's Untamed Flower Garden? Honestly, I see nothing but lovely here. It would be a shame to let this go unfinished. :D I think it has already started to haunt you.

I used to think I had to finish every single thing I started but finally let go of some things I really didn't like and I've never looked back!
For me it was a good experience and I was then able to focus on something that really gave me joy :)

I consider my Grandmother's Flower Garden a life project. I have it about half done and only work on it occasionally. I like yours very much. You could keep it around and work on it while your are waiting, Dr office etc. Finish it off where you are or pass it on. http://www.quiltingboard.com/search....+Garden&u=&s=5 This search will show you lots of options....Enjoy:)

Put a pathway between some of the flowers and make it tablerunner size to see if this makes you happy. You may have to bite the bullet and put the pathway between all of them. I love what you have done so far, but also like to have the pathway between mine!

I ran into the same exact problem. Once I got them all finished what do I do now to set them off? Mine has a yellow center with pink row then a blue row then another pink row. I think I am going to set them together with white since there are no whites in mine. But this may be 10 yrs down the road! It's not a fun project & I think you have to reallllllllly like hand work to do one of these! I think I have about 12 blocks finished. I looked at one yesterday in an antique shop & they set that one together with diamonds & not hegagons. I thought about that too but will have to decide when I get around to it. I just thought the white would set it off better.

Oh dear, I was thinking about starting a GFG this year, but now I'm hesitating after reading about putting it together.
