I tried doing longer strips in a bargello once and it was a mistake. When I did the same pattern pieceing the number of inividual squares I needed for the length it looked much better. In my opinion I think you would be happier with the squares sewn into the length that you need but that is just my opinion and we all have our own way of doing things. I love your pattern also.

I agree. This is a pattern where even small variations in seam size will matter. I love your fabric choices. It would be a shame to make a less than spectacular quilt. I would do this with lots of pressing and spray sizing, with measuring each strip pair to make sure I'd gotten it right before going on to the next. You have the makings of a spectacular quilt here.

BTW, this is a really delightful pattern. Good for you!!!

I love the design and would guess strips are going to be easier but then I would probably keep going with the pieces as I couldn't bear to start over
