Is there another easier way of getting really sharp thin points on a Maltese Cross? I don't usually have a problem with other points, but this one has me flummoxed. I pieced one, but the centre went pear shaped. Needle turn was ok but the points just frayed.

Forgot to mention that I really wanted to applique it, so you can see my dilemma.

That's a cool block. sorry no suggestions but for me the only way I could get points that sharp would be paper (foundation) piecing it.

how about fusable applique? you can cut your points as sharp as you want.

These are fantastic. Is this fusible, if so what stitch did you use to secure?

What about cut away? Do it from the backside. Just a thought
