I feel just like a dog chasing his tail..been going round and round for days trying to figure out what I want to do...I have a baby quilt for a gift I "need" to do but bored with..A owl quilt I started for DH I "need" to finish..another baby quilt I started just for fun..and another one I bought fabric for that I want to do.. So after sitting here for the last 2 1/2 hours I have decided I am going to finish the baby quilt that I "need" for a gift next month before I do anything else! I have just wore myself out just sitting thinking so much! LOL do ya'll ever get like this...

Hi Dianne,
I think we all go through that phase. Why else would we all have ufo's hidden away...I am as guilty as the next...too many irons in the fire to decide which one to grab!
Sounds like you were able to prioritize....good puppy...you feel me petting your head? ha ha ha

Good luck! I usually have 10+ different projects going on so that WHEN I get bored, I can do something else. Not sure why I have so many UFOs............

I try to tell myself that I enjoy finishing the project, otherwise I won't. Quilting should be fun, not a chore. I had a quilt to finish before a quilt show, and I spent about 48 hours straight working on it. By the time I was done, I hated that quilt. I don't like hating quilts... it makes me sad

Been there, done that, many times. Seems my mind keeps running forward to new quilts I want to make and I get tired of and bored with the ones I'm working on. That's what we get for being such creative people, LOL! OK, I'm kidding.

Great suggestion to make some crumb blocks with scraps. I find sewing some string or scrappy log cabin blocks helps me to relax and return to the quilts that "need" finishing ASAP.

I was doing the same thing - it was driving me crazy! I finally made a list - and so far I am sticking to it! Not sure how long I can be so strict on myself.

I am in the process of piecing a Friendship Braid quilt that my DD wants for her 1st anniversay this summer - the FB is boring to piece so I 'force' myself to do 1 panel between each project. I should be able to finish it if I stick with this method. LOL

Sometimes I can't sleep at night with all the ideas of quilts and color combinations I want to do........ I wish I could make them as fast as I can dream them up.

It's called QPADD - Quilt Project Attention Deficit Disorder. This can be treated (to a point) by placing different fabrics on the wall (or corkboard if you have one) and throwing darts while blind folded at the aforementioned wall. Whichever fabric you hit is the project you do! : ) Please do not attempt this with small children, pets, or men in the area - particularly men (they might steal your darts). ;)

I agree, I never know what to start next.

I know just what you mean. I sit there and look at my UFOs and try to decide which to finish first. I usually start a new top instead.

I've always got at least 2, sometimes up to 5, different quilts in progress at any one time. I work on one of them till I get to a good stopping place or just bored with it. Then I move to the next one. Right now, I'm working on the BOM from 2007 at Block Central. I have all the blocks done & am just starting on the sashing. It's such a pretty quilt! And I want to get it done.
The other(s) I'm working on is a fall colors quilt, a scrappy bargello from Quiltville, a homespun 4 patch quilt & a state flowers quilt. So much fun!!
I find if I've got the blahs if I'll go & just look at & feel of my stash, I get the want-to back real quick.

I think you deserve a treat :D:D:D
I try and finish each project, but there are always a few that get set aside, something new that I "just have to try" LMBO
