I have decided I could.....

I could get more quilting done if someone took my easy chair! Anyone else? I think of getting sewing done but it is so comfortable sitting here and reading about it. Wrapped up in a nice warm flannel lap quilt, pretty comfy. I really should go finish that scrappy charity baby quilt. Ok I am off to do that. Guess I just needed to post this to get me motivated!

Toni C 01-16-2013 07:37 PM

hahaha I need to quit going online here to get the quilting done. I spend so much time here looking, reading, learning, and sharing and my chair isn't all that comfy....

lynnie 01-16-2013 07:59 PM

When i had to go to the library i got more work done. Now i have a tablet, and spend time here.
technology, you're dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

Silver Needle 01-16-2013 08:11 PM

I'd get more sleeping done if I wasn't laying here in bed writing on the iPad.

LoisM 01-16-2013 08:17 PM

You're not alone in that, deedum. I spend way too much time in my easy chair reading this board and adding "pins" to my Pinterest albums. That can be very addicting once you get on a roll.

Minister 01-16-2013 10:10 PM

You ladies are right. Being on here is addictive. So I sat a designated time to come on. Late at night.....

QuiltnLady1 01-16-2013 10:24 PM

The only thing better than being on line is being online is a nice warm room -- unfortunately my nice warm room is not my sewing room. Sigh...

My laptop is in my living room. Multi-tasking: Watch TV, read QB and toasty warm because of the woodstove in the same room. What else could a woman ask for? Oh yeah, my sewing machine is in the dining room - even closer to the woodstove. :)

AnnieH 01-16-2013 11:55 PM

It's early morning here on a very frosty and cold morning but I'm toasty warm enjoying my board time on my ipad waiting for DH to get up and make me some tea (yes, I know I could but the dog will want out and I'd find myself tidying, best stay here and chat across the pond).

Oh yes, between Pinterest and this board and my chair, I am lucky to get to my sewing room at all. I did finish my little baby scrappy last night, not a beauty but will go to charity and they always love getting them. That chair will call me again tonite. Especially in the winter when it is cold and dark, I seem to be a bit less motivated.

mpspeedy2 01-17-2013 03:59 AM

Ah, I have just the opposite problem. I spend to much time in my chair handquilting or crocheting around fleece blankets for Linus.

quilticing 01-17-2013 04:34 AM

Long johns are a must!

Jackie Spencer 01-17-2013 04:43 AM

I get on the QB in the morning, while Im drinking my coffee, and then again in the evening. I live alone, so its company for me. I love seeing all the beautiful quilts, and reading all the interesting and sometimes funny things you all say. Then its back to my sewing room.

I'd get a lot more done if someone took my computer away!

Dragonomine 01-17-2013 04:52 AM

I'm having trouble getting off the computer! I WISH I could do my quilting from the couch. My chair is hard! It's killing my backside!!

ube quilting 01-17-2013 05:05 PM

I need to quit working !
peace

You and me both! Then I'd still be able to stay on the computer. lol

deedum 01-17-2013 07:17 PM

Yikes, if I quit working, I would have time to sit in my easy chair, no I mean sewing room! But would I be able to afford quilting?

Cyn 01-17-2013 07:22 PM

Thank goodness for those kinds of chairs and this board! I'm recouping from shoulder surgery and am not suppose to use my arm at all! TV stinks for the most part as far as I am concerned :)

Lorileik 01-18-2013 05:36 AM

Lol! I thought it was just me! I would get a lot more quilting done instead of just reading about it and looking at pics if I didn't have this IPad!

quilter68 01-18-2013 05:51 AM

Please, I feel guilty already. Jackie Spencer I am like you and do not have a schedule - Do what I want when i want. From here I go to whatever blogs are connected and then hunt for historical state documentation books. BUT...I do get up on tv commercial breaks and do walking exercise.

Janie67 01-18-2013 05:57 AM

I could get more quilting done if I did not love to read so much. I have promised a quilt to all my children and gchildren for their birthdays this year so I have been motivated to quilt more. I took photos of all quilts and sent to each person to choose their quilt according to whose birthday came first. So far I have made 2 from scratch and put the binding on 3 others that have been quilted for awhile but not bound. I need 13 in all plus a dementional bow tie made from 5 inch squares of a flannel that looks like men's suiting for my husband. Got to get busy😃

Cyn,I pray you have a painless & fast recovery!
I'm recouping from detached retina surgery on left eye & laser for 2 tears & a hole in my retina on my right eye. At first I would sit in my easy chair, I enlarged my laptop screen & using a magnify glass I was able to see what's going on in the quilt world on the board. Now a wk. later I able to see better I keep thinking I could do a few things around the house or in sewing room but still can't seem to get out of my chair. lol Maybe I will talk myself into doing something productive yet today. Glad to know I'm not the only one that can't seem to get out of my chair. I'm giving myself 30 mintues more then I getting up. lol
Very blessed & thankfull for my sight.

MimiBug123 01-18-2013 09:02 AM

I'd get more done if someone took my laptop away. It's cool this morning and being snuggled up in bed with a warm quilt and 3 little fur bodies just feels too good to get up!

I agree completely, chair too comfy with quilt books in lap.

solstice3 01-18-2013 09:43 AM

Sometimes I feel the same. I have often wondered if I could get one of those hospital tables that goes across the bed and figure a way to sew in the easy chair....oh, there I go thinking again!!

MadQuilter 01-18-2013 09:48 AM

MY BFF gifted me a leather recliner a while back and I actually had to move it out of the way for the very same reason. Even hubby found out that it apparently has a switch to make you go to sleep.

onemoe 01-18-2013 02:00 PM

how true, here i am instead of quilting

Jo Anne B. 01-18-2013 04:07 PM

IT'S TWUE, IT'S TWUE! All of this is so true! So glad to know I am not alone in this guilty pleasure.
I regularly forward many of my daily QB's to my girlfriend who is deciding to join because I have found sew many interesting things. Maybe I should warn her of the addiction possibilities. LOL!:D

newbiequilter 01-18-2013 06:44 PM

I find if I turn off my computer before I got to bed and don't turn it on in the morning I get a LOT more done. Of course, I can always do a quick check on my phone....and delete unwanted items....but I am not sitting in my comfy chair....get up in the morning, dress and go to the gym and that makes my day much more productive..................except on the days when I stay home....yawn....I am lucky if I start sewing by 3 pm. Bad computer!

Dina 01-18-2013 07:40 PM

Well, I have the best of both here in the same spot. I have my laptop hooked up and on the slide out shelf under my computer desk, and my sewing machine sits on the desk it self. I can sew a while, then push back just a foot and pull out my laptop and get to this board. I "pretend" my laptop can't move from the slide out shelf so I am never far from the sewing machine. In fact, I leave the lap top plugged in. Half the time I forget it is a lap top. :)

Works for me. I can't sew and be on the computer at the same time, but this is pretty close!!

Dina

I am guilty as well as I sit here in my comfy warm chair. My sewing room is warm, but I can't read the board and sew at the same time. I don't chime in very much but I love reading what you all say. Helps me understand there are others out there like me doing the same things. Thanks for sharing.
