I have been sewing garments and home decor for years but only recently decided to try quilting. I had worn out my old cheapie Singer and wanted to get a computerized machine. Not knowing if I would stick with the quilting, I bought a Brother from Walmart. It's a nice starter machine with lots of features and included feet but I wanted something that would last me through the years.
I started looking at Janome and discovered that some of the Kenmore machines were made by them. I got the model 19110 which is identical under the paint to the Janome DC2010 and HT2008. I saved $200 by going with the Kenmore instead - it's on sale for $199. |
Have fun with your new machine. Kenmore's are very good, you should enjoy it for many years to come! I have a Kenmore from the 50's and another about 15 years old and I still use them sometimes, very reliable.

Awesome, I am so happy for you. Have fun quilting!

A new sewing machine is almost better than a new car, isn't it!

I had a Kenmore once. It was a good machine. It was a basic machine the had a straight stitch and zigzag and a few more. I had it about 10 years before I wore it out.

Congratulations on getting a new machine! I have two Janomes and love them both.
|
I still have my Kenmore running/sewing that my parents gave me.....30+ years ago. Although I would love to have a new Janome to keep the older Kenmore company.

I got the same machine on sunday! Almost went to get the day before but didn't due to weather, so glad, saved more $$$$. So far I like it, but haven't given it a good run yet. congrats!

Congrats on your new machine. Have lots of fun with your new baby.

Congrats on the new machine!!! I wish I had of researched machines when I bought mine. I paid over $400 for my Janome HT2008 last January. I love it but it would have been nice to have save a bunch.
