I'll finish the hanging sleeves on the Cats one today, so I'm thinking about wrapping it. I keep thinking the appliquéd parts shouldn't be folded because it'll make a permanent crease... but that makes no particular sense... right? :?: Besides, Jenny has to fold it to get it home. Ease my mind?

Could you roll it up? I really have no idea.

I have a friend that has wallhangings with applique and what she does is, she takes a large bath towel, lays the hanging on it, right side up, then she starts rolling it up. This way, it doesn't get creases, or dirty and doesn't take up a large amount of room. Hope this helps.

Glad you asked this one...I don't have a clue. Mine all lay flat under the spread on a guest bed....Well, I guess I've folded some and mailed them off to my grandmother....she said they were beautiful...she wouldn't have said that if I'd ruined it, right???

I've been folding it gently with back sides together... or laying it on the ironing board. I like the rolling idea--even better with a towel. But it's 50" square... so I think she'll have to gently fold it go get it to her home.

The other issue is the black fabric picks up lint--so a towel would hinder that--but Jenny could take some tape to it at home....

I made one with lots of applique for a challenge and it needed to be folded and I haven't noticed any problems.

doesn't your friend own an iron?

How about rolling it and putting it in a shipping tube? My ex use to mail CAD drawings all the time and they COULD NOT be folded.
The tubes are not that much and would not take up much space if storing :?

It should be okay to fold it. It's not going to be folded for long time.

I hope folding it is OK because my Stairway to Cat Heaven top is folded and probably will be for a long time until I have the materials to finish it. I have noticed some creases in the applique. I assumed they would iron out... at least I hope they will.
