Sally, I think we are talking about two different things here. I was talking about kits that are precut not kits that are yardage amounts. Geema has a good point about shrinkage being universal once a quilt is made and quilted. If you are worried about colors, you can always throw one of those dye magnets in with the quilt, but I have not found this to be a problem. I have quit prewashing since switching to quality fabric. I love the way the washed and dryed quilt puckers around my stitches giving it that old quilt look, also.
