Do any of you have a program at your guild that you loved? I am in charge of the programs for our guild for the year. So far I had a talk about quilting and her mission trip, scappy quilts, Art quilts, Underground Railroad, and a NQA judge about judging at a quilt show.

Our guild has a program each month and it usually involves some kind of demo on a new technique or something like that. November is going to be quick gifts in minutes. They usually have 5-6 stations and provide the directions for each mini-gift.

i enjoyed the swaps. everyone puts 4 fabrics in a bag. the participants stand in a circle and the moderator commands pass left, right, and back several times. then you make a small wallhanging with the contents of the bag.

We do a mystery quilt every couple of years. One of our members finds a pattern (a free one on the internet) and figures out a way to do it in "parts". Each part is a clue and we get a clue every month for 4 months. We don't know how it's going to look until we get the last part sewn.

We have done "snappy bags" at another group I belong to. Everybody got their bags together in about 2 hours.

WHy don't you have someone demonstrate the Acuquilt machines and how to use them in quilting. You might also have some one demonstrate and talk about using machine embroidery in quilting. If your guilds are like the two I belong to there are members at every stage in the quilting process from rank beginer to seasoned veteran. Everybody always enjoys a trunk show.
