What is the definition of an I Spy quilt?

sharon b 06-17-2010 08:00 PM

Not sure of the exact definition but I take it to be a quilt made with many different patches that you can play a game with . many have no patches the same others will have matching patches but not together so you can find the matches.

You can say ... I spy something red with black dots and the child looks for something that has that

The blocks in the I Spy swaps are of fruits, vegetables, signs, sports equipment, animals, people, all sorts of other inanimate objects... You try and not replicate any fabrics in the quilt top.
