First, let's make Patrice smile by keeping this thread nice :-) See her post here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-49397-4.htm#1159419

After not being able to make our usual rounds due to Hubby's surgery, we sure made up for it yesterday! Hubby, myself, our fav neighbor lady and DD all managed to get to three shops yesterday (We even made one before we picked up the kid!) Boy did I miss the eye candy! There is something about walking around looking at all those quilts that I just love. It was especially nice to talk to everyone, and the girls all had to pull out their newest blue fabrics to feed Hubby's addiction ;-) He was strong and only bought a couple of yards. It was nice to be missed. :-)

It wasn't such good news for me on the stash-busting front; I added quite a few. I put a big dent in the fabric shopping for my Christmas gift list; now I just need to get them all done by December! DD has decided she needs an apron to give a chef friend, so we picked up the cutest pattern for that. She has to come over and put it together (with help), but who knows - maybe she'll get the bug!

Anyone else had a good LQS experience lately?

I'll keep it NICE,lol! I'm glad you had a great shopping trip to LQS's with great people. Nice fabrics & cool looking apron pattern. I hope DH is recovering well after surgery. Have fun making all your projects and getting them done before Christmas, lol! Keep us posted.

I did. Went to a BOM class at the local LQS and during the hour we are there we got 20% off anything in the store. It was fun. My LQS lady also calls me when wonderful fabric comes in she knows I like. Small town, here again.

I always have a good experience @ a LQS. Sometimes too much!

Yesterday was Back to Nature demo... My signing up for it is a long & convoluted story, but signed up I am. So I went to the monthly demo & saw some of the cute things they'd bought at the latest quilt market... Picked up a couple of patterns, purchased a little fabric... Oh, and yet another ruler that will make all things perfect:wink:.

Then I signed up for an upcoming row by row, "Let's Build a Snowman." So that will be another pattern to buy, as well as whatever fabics I need for it (I could also use fabric from my own stash & only pay for the monthly class). It only made sense to sign up - it's immediately after the BtN demo and ends the same month that will. I'm already there, might as well stay a while!

With over 3,000 bolts and lots of other goodies in there, I cannot go without buying something. I've no willpower. So I know that every month for the next six months, I'll be doing a bit of shopping.

Darn!! I LOVE Charleston, have been there several times, but not in awhile. I would remember a quilt shop had I seen it :D:D:D

it's on Henrietta street. a bit off the beaten path but easy enough to find. they even have a decently sized parking lot next to the shop and off the road. no need to park half a mile away and hike to the door.

they have another location in Summerville. i haven't been there, but i'll bet is just as faaaaabulous.

the most convenient hours i've ever seen at an LQS. they are open until five on saturdays! :-)

i live 3.5 hours from Charleston. i go there once in a while to visit a friend of mine. i might start sending him there with his camera phone so he can shop for me by remote control.
