I use a pair of generic pants hangers with the clips on them - and tuck them into the slats on the closet doors.

I use a flannel sheet as a design wall. It holds the blocks without pins. If I want to take a photo, I hang the flannel sheet from the curtains.

I did this before I had a dedicated design wall.

Thanks for all the great ideas, Ladies! I re-arranged my sewing room to empty part of one side for a design area - though the barn walls aren't that tall - and then utilize the door area with hooks and clips for hanging larger WIP or even finished lap quilts. Your help is greatly appreciated! ~ Patty

I thumbtacked a queen-sized batt to my wall. I can pin when the pieces are larger or simply press with my hand for the smaller pieces.
