I need help in identifying the attachments I found while dusting off the treadle sewing machine my mother gave me. There is a total of 7 attachments.
Foot Attachment #2
Foot Attachment #3
Foot Attachment #4
Foot Attachment #5
Foot Attachment #6
Foot Attachment #7
Foot Attachment #1
#5 Rolled hem foot
The rest!? No idea!
#7 looks like a zipper foot
#2 looks like it's for attaching bias binding
#6 looks like it's for straight stitching
i found a web site that sells parts for treadles and they show diagrams of all the parts...one of the feet looks like a ruffler, one a hemmer, boy, now i can't remember...but heres the link, you may be able to figure them all out here :)
#3 is used to splice two pieces of fabric together. Im sure it has a name, I just don't know it!
Photo Number 3
Singer Edge Stitcher Attachment 36865 Low Shank
I remember these others but am not real sure. Photo Number 6 may be like my present-day Bernina where there is just one fine hole in the center of foot for precise stitching.
I think Photo Number 5 is the bias tape maker.
It will be interesting to see what others have to say about these old feet.
3 binder I think five is for sewing binding 2edge stitcher,6 shirringor gathering and 4 is a tucker
#1 is a tucker, ruffler or gathering foot, sometimes the names are interchangeable.
#2 is a binding foot. Thought that was a new invention didn't you?
#3 is an edge joiner, for joining lace, ect, to the edge of a garment.
#4, I don't know, but will find out if you want.
#5 is a rolled hem foot.
#6 is a straight stitch foot.
#7 is a zipper or cording foot.
Have fun, happy sewing!
Oh yeah..... you are so correct Pam! That Number 5 is what Mom had me making hankerchief hems with. I plain forgot. This getting older is showing my age on the time. LOL Thanks for letter is know which is what.
