#3 is used to splice two pieces of fabric together. Im sure it has a name, I just don't know it!

Photo Number 3
Singer Edge Stitcher Attachment 36865 Low Shank

I remember these others but am not real sure. Photo Number 6 may be like my present-day Bernina where there is just one fine hole in the center of foot for precise stitching.

I think Photo Number 5 is the bias tape maker.

It will be interesting to see what others have to say about these old feet.

#1 is a tucker, ruffler or gathering foot, sometimes the names are interchangeable.

#2 is a binding foot. Thought that was a new invention didn't you?

#3 is an edge joiner, for joining lace, ect, to the edge of a garment.

#4, I don't know, but will find out if you want.

#5 is a rolled hem foot.

#6 is a straight stitch foot.

#7 is a zipper or cording foot.

Have fun, happy sewing!

Thank you one and all for the information. You have thoroughly impressed my DH. Now to learn to use these items as soon as I get the machine cleaned up and a place to put it. I just can't believe that I have let it sit for years in the storage building. And I'm supposed to be getting my grandmother's treadle that she learned to sew on.

smitty 06-16-2010 05:23 PM

#6 is a gathering foot. crazy looking, but it works.

amma 06-17-2010 09:26 AM

I hope that you have many happy hours of sewing on grandmother's treadle :D:D:D
