I'm Acronym Illiterate :)
Can you all help me out? I see acronyms on the QB (that one I understand) referring to mother, daughter, son, husband, sewing machine, etc. Can someone please spell this all out for me? The latest is DSM which refers to a sewing machine somehow. Any and all acronyms and their meanings would be most appreciated :) Thank you!

Domestic Sewing Machine
there is a list of acronyms in the info someplace, just ask, we'll tell. |
There is a great thread on this board called Quilter's Dictionary & Acronyms by member quiltE. If you go to the white search box on this Board and type in the word Acronym, it will come up within the first 10 items. Then you can bookmark it for future reference. It was very helpful to me when I first started coming here!

I didn't see these included but see them used all the time so
MIL-mother in-law FIL- father in-law SIL-son in-law DIL- daughter in-law |
You are not alone with this problem. I'm hopeless at deciding what they mean. Thank you Paper Princess for the link.

Domestic sewing machine means your ( regular) sewing machine you sew / piece on. Instead of mid- or long arm, quilting machine.

I use JAF for Jo-Ann's Fabric. I think people who text use similar abbreviations.
