I'm looking for patterns or blocks of log cabin variations
I'm looking for patterns or blocks that would be considered log cabin variations - are there any out there?

Fons and Porter just put out a new Log Cabin book - you can download it FREE here:

Judy Martins book "Log Cabin Quilt Book" has dozens of variations and lots of beautiful patterns!!

You can see non-traditional log cabin quilts that members of the board have posted here - http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...bums16947.html
There are several books on log cabins that include non-traditional patterns as well. Judy Martin has published at least 2 log cabin books, and another is on its way (if it's not already out). My avatar is a log cabin variation. |
I second Judy Martin's book. You can see pictures of quilts made from that book on her "Viewer Photos" page. It's the third book listed:

Mary Ellen Hopkins has a good book on Log Cabins although I don't know if you can still buy it. It gives you lots of ideas. No doubt can find it used.

I have a package of Log Cabin Twist paper patterns that are on my to do list. They make the twisted block that looks like star. Someone posted an awesome one done with bright colours and black on QB.
