Within the past couple weeks, there was a post about joining pieces of batting using a certain machine stitch (not zigzag). I have looked high and low, put in words to search but to no luck. Does anyone else remember anything about it? Thanks.

That fusible strip roll you buy can also be made out of fusible pellon cut into strips. It is more economical to make your own.

Some machines have a "butting" or "joining" stitch that is recommended for joining things together. It looks like a ladder or railroad tracks. I just use a very large zig zag myself although my machine has the special stitch.

Please excuse my ignorance as I am very new at this and wonder? why are you joining batting? Is it because you need a larger piece? I have never purchased batting yet so have a great deal to learn so would appreciate your answers. Not having enough batting of a certain size or using up smaller pieces of batting seems like a logical answer to me but then I am a very literal person (gets me into lots of trouble) and this may be just too simple of an answer on my part.

That's the reason. I just bought the fusible tape from JoAnns (50% off). Got the widest roll and plan on cutting in half to get double the length. I've always hand basted my pieces together because I didn't want to compress the batting so this tape will be a trial for me.
