I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a brilliant idea and thought I have to post this on the board in the morning. Now I can't remember what it was. How sad is that. LOL

Cyn 01-09-2011 08:56 AM

I have gotten to where I get up and write down stuff like that...LOL...because if I don't then I'll never be able to remember it later.

At 72, I keep a tiny tape recorder next to my bed and in my car. The two places I get my inspirations. I also take my camera to record color combinations that strike my fancy. I keep everythingnin my journals. They really help when I am deSigning patterns.

amma 01-09-2011 09:26 AM

LOL it happens all too often  :D:D:D

quiltlady37 01-09-2011 10:04 AM

Darn, I hope the idea comes back to you. I am 73 and some days I feel like I can barely remember my name. Not that bad really, but I hate having to try to remember names and where I have put things.

davidwent 01-09-2011 10:07 AM

I keep a notepad and pencil on my night stand for just such occasions

This is called "Craft Syndrom" C=can't R=remember A=a
F=^$%@ing T=thing! I suffer from it all the time!

salmonsweet 01-09-2011 11:48 AM

I once scribbled down a dream idea in the middle of the night, and went back to sleep sooo satisfied that I'd saved it.... only to find in the morning that what I'd written was a total "anjobvwei0pjvwoabnfwehig nppoujipn" kind of gibberish. :)

amandasgramma 01-09-2011 11:48 AM

I have that problem during the DAY!

feffertim 01-09-2011 12:32 PM

LOL

scowlkat 01-09-2011 12:36 PM

I have note pads all over the place and a tape recorder by the bed also. If anyone told me that getting older was such a pain, I don't remember! LOL!

AnnieH 01-09-2011 12:43 PM

Ditto

My DH and my favorite invention yet is the post it notes. Our microwave is covered with reminder notes. What makes me made is I will be up in my sewing room, think of something I need downstairs, Well when I get downstairs I have forgotten what I came down for. I then have to return up to the sewing room to remember what I was headed downstairs for!!! I get plenty of stair exercize everyday.

bev195000 01-09-2011 01:33 PM

katei 01-10-2011 02:39 AM

At least you remembered that you had a brilliant idea

marthe brault-hunt 01-10-2011 02:43 AM

Finally, I can put a name on my strange behaviour. I'll have to jot it down,Craft Syndrome

smagruder 01-10-2011 03:17 AM

Ikeep paper and pen by my bed so when I have a "brilliant" thought I can write it down... then can't remember to look at the paper in the morning. Run into it at some later point and ask my self..."why did I write this down?" lol Hopefully that idea will return at sometime soon.

stitchinwitch 01-10-2011 03:40 AM

Isn't that FRUSTRATING??!! And have you noticed, that people of ALL AGES are more forgetful lately? It doesn't matter if you are a senior citizen - those in their early 40's are forgetting so much too. People say "we have too much on our minds" nawwwwwwww - I'm retired, I have NOTHING on my mind, and I STILL forget things - phone numbers, names, faces, where I put my keys, my glasses. How can we turn this around?

pojo 01-10-2011 04:13 AM

Been there join with me.

QBeth 01-10-2011 05:03 AM

hgouveia 01-10-2011 09:03 AM

We all know what you mean. Hopefully it will come back to you and then you can share it with all of us!

sewmom 01-10-2011 09:09 AM

Boy can i relate! Right now I can't find the F foot for my 9000. My friend borrowed it, gave it back and it's here in the house somewhere. i also can't find the foo pedal. My DH needs to clean the dust out of it and I put it somewhere. Grrrr-i hate when I do that. On a happier note-I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night and remember where I put something or remember someones name. Ha ha
