Those are kinda different!

Love those LakeHouse fabrics! The ones she chose work so nicely together.
And I really love the cabin roof that she pictured too. I think they're bluets that are carpeting it. Ah spring. My bluets have long since been beheaded by the lawn mower. And I don't think that hubby would appreciate me extending the gardens to the garage roof. Nope. Definitely not! |
You know, to each his own.
If I made some nice looking placemats, then cut and pieced them, that differently, my family would look at me, like I was driving a freight train down a dirt road. Trying different things, is how you do eventually come up with something great, but I can only afford to do most of my experimenting on paper. I guess that's why my productivity level is not that high. |

I, too, did not care for the after design. I think it ruined the look of it.

I think with a different set of fabrics it might have looked better.
Lesson learned: just because you can, doesn't mean you should. |
Boy I thought I was the only one that thought it was better before she cut it. Whew... And yes I am in the same boat if I did placemats well wouldn't work.

I liked the "before" better, too.
MUCH better. |

Yep I agree - What a shame she cut up those pretty buttterflys.

I'd love to have the patterns for the embroidery shown in the blog.
Tried to figure out where they came from, but couldn't seem to find it. Does anyone have a clue where to get them. Too too cute! |
pal,
i believe that the butterflies are on a printed fabric, not an embroidery design. i'll bet if you blogged her, she would tell you. you might have to sign up for her blog, but you can always unsubscribe after. opps! my mistake. wrong thing. why not blow it up, tape a paper over your screen and trace? if you click on it, it blows up. you do mean the house and the tree thingie, right? and the bird on the antenna? |
The place mat kinda reminds me of a convergence quilt, I wonder if it would look better on a bigger scale?
I do give her kudos for trying something out of the box!!! |
Thanks, Butterflywing. Tracing it is a good idea.
There appears to be two different series that she is embroidering, so I think there are a couple more in each series. I think I will write to her and ask. Thanks again! |
