good morning everyone.
i need your help. i just got a huge garbage bag of old jeans to make rag quilts. some time ago i read on here, how to cut jeans to get the most fabric from them, i thought i bookmarked it. i have done several searches and can't seem to find it. does anyone know where to find this? thank you in advance. sharon |
try this:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-16659-1.htm hope it helps or go to search at the top of the page.....type in blue jean or rag quilt....there are many posts here DeeDee |
I made a denim quilt from old jeans but it isn't the rag style. Like a fool I sat and took every seam out so that all that was left were the front pockets and the waist band/zipper. From some of the jeans I even cut the pockets and used them. I learned that it is easier to just cut down each seam. Sorry that I couldn't help. Good luck.

http://blankie.made4usa.com/HelpfulH...pfulHints.html I learned quite a bit from this site. I just cut off all the seams and save pieces that aren't stained, ripped or too thin. I'm still trying to figure out how to incorporate some pockets into a quilt.
