I went to a big arts and crafts show today. I seen a few quilts not a whole lot. Anyway I seen alot of placemats. Someone said that they put right sides together use fusible interfacing on both sides sew around and turn outside right. They use this so that it isn't so full. Has anyone made them this way?

I haven't. I usually use flannel, sometimes enveloping them (sew right sides together then turn right side out) then finish the turning hole with a ladder stitch.

Yes Sharon that is how they did theirs but with the interfacing. I made some last year but I used low loft batting in mine. I don't think that I have heard of using the flannel either. Thanks for the tip.

I've made quite a few using Warm & natural, then I wash them and they have a wonderful look from shrinking a little. I usually birth mine and slip stitch the opening closed and then quilt throughout and also about 1/2 from outside edges.
