I say "quilting" because my husband can walk around in a wrinkled T-shirt, but goodness, my fabric better not have a wrinkle in it when I'm cutting it. I finally wore out my iron, the poor thing had one good year of quilting before it went. The good news is I get to buy a new one. But which one??? No small choice here. Which iron do you have/like? Do the folks who have the cordless ones or the docking stations like them? I can get 50% off at Jo-Ann's this weekend. Please share. Thank you!

The general feeling is to get an inexpensive one and toss it when it stops working. the expensive ones do not always perform well. Search for previous posts on this subject. Lots of good info and opinions.

My choice is always inexpensive, no auto shut off and steam. My Black and Decker works great.

I agree with inexpensive and throw away... too many have had issues with the expensive irons, no matter the brand name.
The cordless don't stay hot for long :wink: :D:D:D

I agree with just getting a cheap one. I had a cordless one and it was useless......it doesn't get hot enough and doesn't hold the heat.

I had wanted an Oliso, thinking it would be awesome, and my son gave me one for Christmas.....Too expensive and it started having problems right away..........Right now I am using my Mom's old Sunbeam iron, about 35 years old I think...It works fabulous!! I prefer not to have an iron with the auto-shutoff....Just a simple, inexpensive iron, is all you need.......Good luck.....!

I hate cheap irons. They don't get hot enough and they're too lightweight. You don't have to buy a super expensive iron either. Look at the mid-priced irons.

Another option is to search ebay and hope you find a new in the box vintage iron.

I buy a medium priced iron but I do like the auto shutoff. I'm getting forget full or lazy....LOL

My girlfriend turned me on to a Shark which I really like. Auto turn off and it gets plenty hot. Only thing I don't like is it will turn itself off if not used in 10 min.
